Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog!
why: This posting showcases my next design team commitments for Christmas [or not] Bingo Challenges or ConBC. Project #1= I chose column B from #12 bingo board. I used all 4 designated elements! Project #2= I chose column G from #12 bingo board. Normally I try to use all the elements but this time I left out 'bleaching'. Couldn't figure how to use it artistically with the other elements...made my brain hurt thinking about this! :)
when: #12 starts March 1, 2025 and ends on April 15, 2025. Rules state that only 1 column can be used vertically; can't go across/horizontally or diagonally per project.
what: Project #1 = Column B (raindrops, blue, free (foam tape; cursive written sentiment), watercolor and splatters) ==> You Color My World
closeup cropped scan to zoom in to see iridescent glitter acrylic paint splats/streaks =
notes for #1:
1. raindrops = clear teardrop-shaped adhesive gems by Hampton Art 2017 (new to me/1st time to use)
2. blue = Wild Blueberry 5" x 7" cardstock base by CutCardStock; blue teal paper cut 4.5" x 6.5" by Recollections; three blue tone watercolor-type markers
3. free = foam dimensional tape under specialty paper; cursive written script sentiment
4. watercolor = three ways: (1) watercolor markers applied at top of the white paper: 1"square then 1.5" x 1" rectangle then 1" square 'sections' (2) specialty paper thick watercolor texture (3) science chromatography experiment with water-soaked cotton balls dragged from top of the paper down to spread the ink across the paper fibers
5. splatters = iridescent acrylic glitter paint was applied to some cording and then it was 'splatted' in a zig-zag sort of patterning across and down the paper
and
what: Project #2 = Column G/2nd attempt (rainbow, purple, free [taupe, text paper & sentiment] make own background) ==>> God keeps His promises
notes for #2:
21. rainbow = used 2 ways: (1) rainbow outline clipart image was used in Google Document repeatedly; (2) I sketched a mimic of the rainbow and clouds clipart image onto the backside of the SU paper then fussy cut and added black doodles
22. purple = used 2 ways: (1) base cardstock 6" square by Art Skills; (2) lavender copy paper by Pen + Gear; part of a pastel paper pack for the digital design/Google Doc to be printed on
23. free = used 3 times: (1) taupe color in the fussy cut focal shape; (2) text print paper for the focal shape; (3) handwritten sentiment in black
24. make own background = as referenced above, I created a Google Doc with table format, inserted a 24 point font side rainbow with 2 clouds outlined clipart image into each box; printed onto lavender paper; cut to size and then outlined in black marker for distinction; white colored pencil applied to each cloud for a subtle effect; after focal was adhered, I wrote the sentiment below it
and
what: 3rd project (this is not shown on ConBC)/1st attempt at column G (rainbow, purple, free (other colors), [skipped bleaching]& made own background
and
closeup for lettering...
notes: (neutrals and metallics don't count unless specified for an element)
31. rainbow = free for personal use; clipart image printed as black and white from ClipArt Library website; didn't use full traditional ROY G BIV spectrum since whoever drew the rainbow only included 3 beams; this the bingo board wants prominent purple used, I did a blue violet, violet and pink. (colored pencils)
32. purple = base cardstock trimmed to 5.5" wide x 6" tall (Art Skills); dark purple mottled strips (old DCVW); blue-purple strips (Pen + Gear?); lavender and white-gray varied tile pattern paper = Art Skills; the multicolor glossy print paper was recycled envelope liner (unknown); lavender cardstock behind the clipart (mixed pack scraps Crafter's Square); the light pinkish-lavender strips = (Pen + Gear)
33. free = using yellow, blue and pink colored pencils and/or puffy dots (Recollections)
34. no bleach used
35. make own background = used the strips in a sunburst pattern as well as adding the black doodle lines to mimic those in the clipart around the sun; focal panel added to the center and the sentiment split to above and below the focal area
36. foam dimension tape under the rainbow focal

a. blue raindrops = I Love Promarkers; still open for 2 more days; use any marker(s); My raindrop card has 2 blue tones and 1 purple-blue tone of watercolor markers used on a thick homemade specialty paper; wet cottonballs (1 for each) were started at the top of each color tone band and then rubbed down the panel!!!

b. blue raindrops = The Four Seasons Challenge; March 1; Spring season; technically calendar-wise, we still have about 3 weeks/19+ days to declare the new season but on the local news I keep hearing about this 'meterological spring' beginning March 1!!! I guess that is due to the roller coaster of changes; stronger chances of slushy snow or light snows, cold rains; MY blue sky with crystal raindrop/teardrop gems is for the rainy spring weather

~~ interesting fact about me:
I took piano lessons for about 9 years! I started with an elderly woman when I was about 6 years old but seemed to stall and wasn't challenged to go past a basic level. Mom stopped taking me there so had a break for about 2 years. Sometime around 8 1/2 years old I started taking from a different lady who was in her mid-40s then. Under her guidance, I progressively advanced and tackled different genres, not stopping until about 17!
Hymn arrangements are my favorite but I also like old movie and TV show themes, wedding songs, polkas, etc.
A great assortment of cards Becca, all so pretty! Thanks so much for joining us at Four Seasons challenge with the rain shower card, perfect for spring!
