Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog!
post's purpose/why: Within this posting is my newest manager/DT inspiration Christmas card for MTTCC #108. My Time To Craft Christmas is a challenge blog with new themes every other Friday morning. We're starting a new series of requiring a certain product to be used for the participants' Christmas cards. This first one is suggested by DT member Alyson to use ribbon(s).
when: #108 starts March 14, 2025 for 13 days
what: MTTCC #108 = Fa-la-la getting the Christmas tree card
notes: I'll either keep this for a display card or give it to someone local that I can hand-deliver
1. black cardstock base was a 6" square; trimmed to 5.5" square = Art Skills
2. Sandcastle Tan cardstock cut to a 5" square = Martha Stewart through CutCardStock
3. red cardstock cut to a 4" x 3" rectangle (approx.) = Pen + Gear
4. chipboard stickers "Fa-la-la" and the house = Jingle All The Way by Simple Stories 2020
5. French-wired ribbons pickup truck with tree and the red/black plaid = Crafter's Square
6. plastic pine needles = cut from the backside of a home decor winter greenery arrangement!! I've had the floral decor for at least 3 Christmases!
7. black dual-tip marker = Art Skills
8. two different thicknesses of foam tape and some dual-side tape plus glue were used for adhesives

b. ABC Christmas; for March/current; themes are E/embossing or F/focal sentiment or G/girls for Christmas holiday cards; MY 2 ribbon-usage card has a large "Fa-la-la" chipboard sticker serving as the focal sentiment

d. Path of Positivity; current for March; theme is anything goes positive with option to embrace the unexpected/make something you normally don't do = French-wired ribbon on cards is something I usually avoid but it was a different kind of ribbon that the other MTTCC dt members hadn't used so I decided to embrace that ==

Appreciate the quick visit after publishing in the wee hours! The other DT members mostly used satin or grosgrain ribbons, so I wanted to use French-wired. Plus no one had wrapped ribbon around the sides of a panel/layer, so that worked for a different usage example. Thanks to you and Darlene for being a dynamic blogland duo!
DeleteOoh, great use of the wired ribbons! The truck ribbon is perfect with the plaid; such a great combo! Thanks for sharing your "unexpected" with us at Path of Positivity. Katrina

DeleteI love all the texture on this lovely card, Becca. The ribbons adds such a lot of colour and interest and the banner sentiment is perfect for our challenge.
