Stencil Me In theme continues to the end of the month for the APTS challenge blog! This 2nd stencil project as a resident designer went a different route compared to my first creation.
It/1st card was mostly texture rubbings of crayons over different stencil templates, so lots of patterns and hues. I also used a set of circle stencils to form a stacked 'flower' accent piece.
This 2nd card has used 3 different stencils: a scalloped border edge, a pennant banner, and a word one of 'celebrate'. I love the bright color mix plus the stenciled accents and sentiment!
Another technique used the banner and the border was a chromatography kind of watercolor bleed. I used watercolor markers of purple, magenta, and orange on coffee filter, then folded into a triangle, dipped in water, and then opened it out onto paper toweling to dry. I stenciled the border and the banner onto different areas of the filter paper, traced, outlined with magenta marker and then fussy cut.

This card, minus the time for the chromatography experiment, took only about an hour to create! Using stencils for tracing didn't take that long and the patterned paper and colors I used for the coffee filter set the palette for the card. Cording didn't take long to measure, cut, and tie. The big double layer potted flowers and gem dots just had to be picked and applied. Papers didn't take long either. Base is 5" x 7" and the print is 4.5" x 6.5".
