So thankful square card with star theme for PPCC blog DT project no 437

Three images were given to the DT crew and with this one featured on my card, I wanted to highlight the stars, so before printing, I edited with watercolor shape outlining to add the black star and the red Star of David. For the gold paint star outline and outer fussy cut edge, I just followed the outside furthest points. Details:
The base CS is 7" square and the background paper is 6" square--both from my mid-June selected partial sets/pads of papers! (older stock I'm trying to use and mentioning old...the star stickers are old and the little sentiment was leftover from last Thanksgiving!!!) Isn't this card just the cutest?!!!

I gave the gal some rosy cheeks and a bit of a pink nose too. You can decide if she's a tad sunburned or maybe overwrought with emotion...hmmm

Have I said how much I love this card??? The colors have just coordinated so well!! Each of the main star shapes have a different tone of blue. My purpose was to re-create varying shades of a night sky without going to dark full night.

More pics of this super cute card! I just loved how all the elements came together! I little bit of black inking around the base perimeter and corners. And I added a blue marker outlining after adhering the large focal image to the background and base, which just adds more blue and keeps repeating the star points. Don't you think this is adorable????

Hope you enjoy another vibrant card creation for the 2nd half of June and into early July. The cardstock partial set is dwindling the fastest. I'm making a dent in the 6"square paper pad but not fast enough to wipe it out soon. Goodness! I've been making a card about every 2 days for 2-3 weeks...it's like the paper is multiplying on me!!!!

Surely I'm not the only crafter who feels like this????

A Place To Start is a great challenge blog set up on a monthly basis giving crafters plenty of time to create then link their project to the site! It also has pages filled with technique instructions, tutorials, and videos. There are also sketch designs for layout ideas and lots of wonderful resources whether as a new crafter or an old-timer looking for inspiration.

APTS' July theme is an easy one...anything goes...I decided to give myself 3 criteria for this card: (a) thank you, (b) use lots of stickers in an interesting way, and (c) continue using the bright colored cardstocks and patterned papers from my supply stockpile that I challenged myself to use from mid-June on.

Bash Your Scrapbook Stash group on Facebook= Paper Pad Madness for June= I started June 15 by pulling out a partial set of the watercolor mottled cardstock, a partial set of bright patterned scrapbook papers, and 2 different sized small paper pads that had already had a few sheets out of each but still had long ways  to go to be finished... stay tuned in a few days for me to give an update on how much I was able to use in 2+ weeks....

Above: 4 of these cardstocks have had 5" x 7" sections cut out to be used as card bases/backgrounds and for this project I just cut 2" x 3" pieces off the remaining sheets that were glued to a new white CS 5" x 7" base.

Best wishes for birthday gal adventurer card for DT project TCCC blog no 222

Science fiction/out of this world is an option for our new TCCC blog challenge with patchwork being the other option. I didn't think I had anything in my stockpile that would look sci-fi or outer space, so I decided to do patchwork. #222

With a patchwork border I decided to go with a island-pirate ship-adventurer kind of motifs and phrasing to connect with part of Peter Pan's story.

The border squares are 1" each but have only 1/2" exposed. I just wanted to make sure there wouldn't be a gap. The base cardstock is the light yellow seen at each corner where I left it open.

With lots of varying tones of yellows, greens, oranges, beiges/browns, and hints of other colors, I really LOVE how all these different vendors supplies came together! A true patchwork!!!

The Peter Pan image was fussy cut, mounted to bright neon orange cardstock and then to neon green however with scanning the neon orange faded to a pale peach...don't know why...but just to clarify my color choices. And I just LOVE how it turned out!!!!!
