CKC Blog June 2020 Kit Reveal and Blog Hop with me as GD

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! Oh, my artsy-crafty heart is so excited to be the Guest Designer for Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog for June 2020! My heart is also anxious! The kit came together with a few speed bumps like not enough solid color CS or paper in the mix and probably way too much of the razzle-dazzle pretties, but I'm happy with the overall color palette and pleased with the shapes like flowers, butterflies, and tags.

So let's get started with some of the details. Warning this will be a very long post but if you love scrapbooking then you will want to soak up every word and picture.

My June copy-cat kit for CKC is titled "Nature's Splendor in Petals and Wings":

Before I show my sorting of the masses, let me show you the inspirational kit picked by this month's Master Forger hostess Tara.

Isn't this so pretty?!!?! I wasn't able to capture the light delicate watercolor strokes on many of the papers so my focus went to colors with ranges in pinks, blues, a few teals, some greens, and yellows with black as my major neutral.

The "Wonderful World" kit has been offered by CLIQUE Kits since March 2020. It is curated collection with designs by Alexandra Renke, Vicki Boutin, and Heidi Swapp.

Here are close-up photos from CLIQUE Kits:

I really wanted to do something with the houses but alas that's going to have to be for another time I think. The little envelopes are so darling, too, but I'm not sure at this point if I'll be able to make any for monthly challenges. We shall see! WANT can be a huge motivator! :)

Back to more pics of my assembled kit now that you've seen the original:

Above: some labels like the inspiration kit; some black script and 2 black and white print washi tapes and 1 black glitter washi tape, 4 different green washi tapes, and 1 with roses. There is also a white glitter washi tape; lots of different butterflies; some clear and light pink crystal gems;

Above: lettering sticker sheets are in green, pink, and blue; some journal cards from My Mind's Eye; some puffy shapes that include hearts, dots, stars, and hexagons in several different colors; some other floral 3-D stick-ons; a few laser cut wood shapes (just a couple roses, 'posies', and leaves);

Below: A couple of weeks ago I started a card base with that gorgeous pine green floral cardstock from My Mind's Eye "Splendor" kit. That's as far as I got, so I'm including it to force me to use it. I remembered when referring back to my notes that I took from analyzing the inspiration kit that I needed some tags (notice the stack of little white tags) and thick cording in yellow, blue, and white. I have some blue and white thin cording as well as some yellow and white. I'll try to get those included in a layout or two. My forgeries are already made and included. Some black and white and gray and white scraps are barely seen at the top edge of the photo.

Above: The neutral scraps or small sheets: zebra print and white with gray dot are from The Paper Studio; the dots and checkerboard are from a 5" x 7" paper pad that I picked to "Bash" at the end of May; and there is a scrap of a light buttery yellow and white chevron cardstock from My Mind's Eye

Below: On the left are full sheets: pink w/ white love script CS and the white with love script CS are from Webster Pages; and the text print with scattered pink roses CS and golden yellow and white diagonal stripe CS are from My Mind's Eye.

On the right are scraps or sheets up to about 60% of full: from My Mind's Eye are the pine green floral CS, the blue and pink Moroccan tile print CS, the mauve pink, and the aqua/teal with white dot CS; from Webster Pages is the light teal floral CS scrap; and the large black and white buffalo check papers is from The Paper Studio

These last 2 photos I tried to lay out the papers so that you could see the banding strips. My Mind's Eye papers come from 3 collections: Splendor, Bohemian (that mauve pink), and Find Your Wings and Fly (the aqua/teal with white dot).

Now let's change the focus of the blog back to CKC. The first day of the month always has an enjoyable blog hop that includes the Master Forgers (design team) and the Guest Designer. I'm so thrilled that MF Tara asked me to GD. She's so excited about revealing the "Wonderful World" kit curated collection from CLIQUE Kits.

It is amazing!

For more about CKC, there is a community group in Facebook. I got involved in following and participating most months of the year with CKC about 3 years ago. The first or second month that I participated, I got selected to be the month of August's 'follower to watch' which was a huge honor. And then it quickly was followed by a GD invite for October of that year. I don't do that much scrapbooking compared to cards but I've been dabbling more this past year or so with Bible journaling, Bible Word of the Month journaling, and traveler's slim-style notebooks (TNs). I prefer to use notebook sheet size scrapbook layouts or the same size in mixed pocket format pages or business card pocket pages in order that they can fit in the standard binder size.

Make sure to check CKC blog for their frequent challenges throughout June and also to check back here to see how and what I'm creating from my kit for the different  CKC challenges.

Welcome to the jubilant month of June!

    1. Thanks, Kate! Maybe the next layout I do will be mostly blues and teals. I didn't realize that the blue/teals do appear to be dominating in most of the kit photos!!!
