MTTC #490 Theme is Jumbo Sentiment showing my DT projects

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! Oh my stars and flowers! :) Sometimes technique and format challenges get my heart and mind fluttering nervously. How to do it? What to say? For card #2=This time I worked a bit backwards because the flower focal had been made and thought I'd use it on other recent cards but I kept putting it aside. I decided to use it and then go with an analogous color scheme of orange, yellow, and red for color coordination and repetition. Then I decided to make it a birthday card and to create a deep dark artsy birthday card .....

For My Time To Craft challenge blog #490

Take good care! Wishing you well! Happy Birthday!--triple sentiment focal birthday card:

A few notes on card #1= The "HB" stamp is an old Stampin' Up product and the 2 little sentiment stamps, I think, are Hampton Arts. Cardstocks and patterned paper are old stash and items placed in my May 2022 kit made for The Great Stash Bash challenge by Lisa and Lori. It was a huge kit this time that I've been using into the summer! Lots of inking to unite the colors in the patterned paper and a light purple glitter paint pen was applied over the sentiments to add sparkle. Gold glitter tempera paint was applied randomly around the card to get glitter dabs and streaks, too.

Wow! Wow! HAPPy Birthday card:

Take a closer look on this cropped scan on stenciled 'birthday': the marker colors and even top glitter paint pens actually were layered and alternated. The flame and stenciled stars didn't get glitter in order to have some contrast:

For this flower closeup scan, recycled light speckled kraft cardstock packaging was stenciled and cut into a circle and edged with red ink. The glitter flowers were edged in some red ink, too! The acetate chevron 'flag' was part of a set-new-that was received in a spring clearance mystery box purchased through Peachy Cheap website. The coppery textured specialty paper scrap under it was purchased about 12 years ago from Paper Wishes website! I've been hoarding them. I got a set of them pre-cut to ATC size. I've still got them buried in a stash box!

  1. Great job with the theme of jumbo sentiments. I love the papers of the first card and how they highlight the sentiment. And those bright colours of the second one are awesome, and those flowers add it dimension an texture. Hugs, María.
