Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! Oh, my artsy-crafty heart thought this theme was going to be easy-peasy! UGH! I know better! :) I shouldn't say or think things will be easy. The washi tape panel came together rather quickly last night, probably in about 10 minutes.
Getting the right balance of a focal, especially for a Christmas flower, to contrast with the 3 different tape patterns/prints ended up being tricky. I've thought my stash of winter holiday embellishments and papers was extensive, especially considering some personal factors (house move from 3 hours away 4.5 years ago, a personal health event 3.5 years ago, and a house fire also 3.5 years ago) that almost wiped out my previous stash. After trying lots of options, I came up with this layered focal.
The focal base is a silver glitter painted snowflake tree ornament I decided to use because of the curved lines I thought looked petal-y. A die-cut accented with a red gem was placed on top.
Foam squares are lifting the panel up allowing space for the wrapped cording.
I'm pleased with the result! Holly and berries, wreaths, trees, and greens are included in the washi tapes so suggestions made by Shell, owner of the MTTCC blog are met.
Flowery Christmas card is my design team project for #4 theme fortnight challenge for My Time to Craft Christmas=
