My Time to Craft CHRISTMAS challenge blog 2nd theme is Penguins starting 29 Jan 2021

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! I've been on the design team for My Time to Craft for a couple of years now and I truly appreciate the owner, Shell's, laid-back easy to be part of the DT approach. She announced to us about 2 months ago that she was wanting to start a Christmas-based one. This is the #2 challenge 'contest' for this new challenge blog!!!!

Join us and get a jumpstart on your Christmas cards in order to reduce holiday stress at the end of the year!

2nd theme for MTTCC/My Time to Craft Christmas is penguins. Start date is 1/29/2021. Deadline date is 2/11/2021.

Design and vendor notes:

1. base is 5" square white cardstock w/ matching envelope

2. gold mirror foil for background; looks blackish on the scanner but it is gold foil; card looks so pretty when it's standing up and catching the light!!!

3. glitter foam tree

4. gold holographic foil "dazzles" from Paper Wishes website

5. penguin cutout is from a gift tag

6. jumbo plastic gem dots

My personal creative challenge for 2021 is to copy-cat a sketch layout from a card in 2010 or 2011 to inspire me, so I have picked this teacher appreciation card from May 10, 2010 to revamp for this Christmas card shown up above=

The tree is similar in shape to the leaf and the sentiment is also on the shape. The gold mirror foil would be replacing the soft tone plaid and the white base margin of the card serves as a perimeter border rather than the pink floral patterned paper.

MTTC 22 Jan 2021 Theme of Glitter Sparkle or Shine

 Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My artsy-crafty heart is excited to take time this week to de-stress a bit making my design team card inspiration for My Time To Craft! The theme is Glitter or  Sparkle/Shine for #449. I've included them both! Couldn't resist using some silver mirrored foil that is sandwiched between the snowflake print and the solid blue base. There is glitter on the huge blue snowflake, the small silver snowflakes, the lettering had silver glitter and I added red glitter paint pen so that "Howdy" would contrast.

Personal creative challenge for 2021 is to get inspired by one of my previous cards' designs from 2010 or 2011. This is my inspiration layout for today's wintery hello card:

The lettering for "Howdy" is placed like the plaid strip with the shells and seahorse stickers. The jumbo blue glitter snowflake and penguin are placed and even shaped vaguely like the starfish sentiment shape on the inspiration card.

card is being shared:

1. Lil Patch of Crafty Friends Challenge Blog; "Always Anything Goes" theme;

2. Use Your Stuff Challenge Blog; "Out with the Old" theme; I used the dark blue with snowflakes patterned cardstock that was a leftover portion from last year's Christmas card-making; the glitter foam snowflake and penguin image from a gift tag are old items from my stash--at least 1.5 years or older

3. Paper, Paper, Paper & Design Team Calls group in FB; sharing site for paper-crafting bloggers, blog owners, and design team member

4. Mixed Media Creativity group in FB; artistic mediums include red glitter paint pen, alphas, silver foil dazzles, glitter foam snowflake, printed cardstock gift tag, patterned paper, silver mirror foil paper, and cardstock for the base

CHD challenge blog DT project for Jan 2021 Anything Goes Theme

Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! Even as a teenager looking to the future, I thought 2000 and 2020 would be very sci-fi, Star Trek, kind of un-real. The events of 2020 were not ever in my visions of the future! Thankfully, my overwhelming craft supply stash is keeping me entertained! :) Oh, yes! Being creative helps me manage my stress. I feel happy when I get a chance to experiment with colors, pattern prints, textures, and layouts!

Createful Heart Design challenge blog is going to continue 2021 with monthly Anything Goes as the challenge. I decided in late December 2020 to select Mary's coloring page "Best Friends Forever" to make some belated wedding cards that I didn't get made this autumn.

Best Friends Forever Wedding Card for #28 monthly challenge=

Design notes: brown kraft cardstock for base; CHD digital image printed on light blue cardstock and color-filled with colored pencils; pale pink cardstock for heart; chocolate brown with raspberry print paper has been in stash for 10 years; lettering and gems from Dollar Tree; red metallic foil striped washi tape is Jolee Boutique.

Personal creative challenge #1 for 2021 is to use old cards' layouts from 2010 or 2011 for inspiration this year. This sympathy card layout is tweaked for today's wedding congratulations card:

The 2nd personal creative challenge for 2021 is to include either hearts or the word(s) heart or love onto my cards as a little subtle visual reminder to family and friends that they are loved.

other challenges and groups where this card or posting will be shared:

a. Use Your Stuff challenge blog; theme = NEW;

+red metallic striped washi tape was received from a crafty friend about 3 months ago

+heart gems were bought within the past month

+digi image is NEW to me provided by CHD owner, Mary Smith

b. 100 Pattern Paper FB group= I haven't pulled a specific stack of patterned papers to use in 2021 but the chocolate brown with raspberry print paper is 10 years old--in the stash way too long. There's a challenge to try to use a mix set of prints--well, I didn't do it all with papers but I do have dots on half of the lettering, stripes on the washi tape, and then a tile-print paper.
