Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! I love to give close family and friends a hand-made card for their birthday. In this posting, I've made two for the stenciling usage challenge at My Time To Craft challenge blog. Yes, two! Layouts are almost identical with just using some different colors and prints.
I'm not that happy about the execution but this past week or so has been a bit topsy-turvy and I'm just going to let these stand as is. The purple stenciled "Happy Birthday" banner was made with purple acrylic paint. The blue one was made with a paint stick, which is softer than a crayon, and wasn't the best tool for the narrow openings of the particular stencil I was using. But I tried. I experimented.
Color-wise they are very good. And I'm happy with the layouts. I tend to be a harsher critic with myself than I am when looking at others' projects. sigh...

My chosen paper pad is a 5" x 7" one that I discovered at Dollar Tree about 2 years ago or so. I put this in a stack of papers that I wanted to bash 2 years ago in January, but as you can see I've not been successful.
Diagonal stripe = 5 sheets
Dotted = 5 sheets
Checkerboard = 7 sheets

May 2020 Week 4 Technique and Stash Embossing Challenge for 20th week of 52 CCT blog
Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! I'm 18 hours or so late due to a personal health issue but glad it got resolved so I can spend some computer time and get the post made.
This Week 4 challenge became a two-fer for me because unlike a lot of paper-crafters today, I don't have embossing folders or powders. I just haven't had a desire to go with those products or techniques. So I chose to go a different route using a different technique and product from those suggested by my 52 CCT team-mate. I've used embellished letter stickers to make the embossed cardstock with a colored pencil texture rubbing to enhance the details.
Embossed love Christmas cards:
close-up of the texture embossing:
Notes on supplies and vendors:
a. the base cards have matching envelopes and were part of a bulk package from Darice
b. the striped washi tapes are Pink Paislee (I think.)
c. the star printed 'coins' are from a Bo Bunny Christmas collection pack of die-cuts
d. the blinged letter stickers are from Art Skills and bought at discount store Dollar General
e. 3 colors of colored pencils were used for the texture embossing: sierra rust, gray, and black

Animals and or Flowers Theme Challenge no 167 for S4fC blog
Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My heart's desire with this posting is featuring the newest fortnight challenge #167 for Scrapping 4 fun Challenges blog that has a theme of animals and/or flowers.
My scrapbook layout focal is the digital image from our sponsor Sheepski Designs! Very whimsical! Since I've paired it with documenting my hubs' and I's 7th 'date' out of 23 leading up to our 23rd wedding anniversary in 2019, I thought the jar of honey was symbolic because I gave a card to my 'honey' that night. We also crossed a river to get home--in a car, not a boat, but there was still water involved.
I'm going to have to go back and check my notes for the actual day this was in January 2019. Must have been in the first half. We started our 'dates' around December 28, 2018 and got our 23rd date completed on our 23rd anniversary of January 27, 2019. All I remember now is due to the penciled 7s on the back of these little snapshots!!!
Date #7 of 23 "With my honey pot" scrapbook layout project:

Some vendor notes for this mini kit:
a. base cardstock is from Astrobrights/Neenah; also cocoa brown scrap cardstock used for 2 photo mounts
b. the small red, white, and green dot paper AND the red and white check paper = The Paper Studio
c. the navy blue and white chevron patterned= very old stash
d. the creamy yellow and white chevron striped cardstock = My Mind's Eye
e. The red and white floral cardstock used for a photo mount = The Paper Studio
f. the word/phrase stickers, the blue border sticker, the floral heart sticker, and the red and white bracket sticker = Webster Pages
The 2 above photos are the selected inspirational kit from Club Echo Park's March 2020 kit that is the kit to copy cat for May 2020's challenge at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog.
The stickers from Webster Pages shown in the pic below along with the reds, blues, greens, and yellows from the inspirational CKC kit were the driving force for the mini kit to make the featured layout of this blog post! Love the cheerfulness of this LO! And the whimsy of the illustration digi adds some symbolic connections without having photos of my husband and I. He's my honey! We argue and fuss at each other sometimes but he's still my honey pot! :)
Above and below: pics of mini kit for this layout; the roll of washi tape wasn't used; thought I might have space for a small section of it but that didn't happen.
Digital image is colored and has word/phrase stickers from Webster Pages on it but wasn't mounted to the navy blue chevron striped patterned paper yet.
Also if you didn't come to my blog from the S4fC blog, then please use that link and see the other wonderful creative projects from the blog owner Rachelle and the other DT members. They always have fabulous detailed creations!

May 2020 Week 3 Theme of Silhouette for 19th week at 52 CCT challenge blog
Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My heart's desire is only display with this week's card due to the Nativity scene silhouette. I found this clipart freebie online to use and added some varying blues, indigos, and blue-violet for background color just using colored pencils. I like the soft look of them so I tend to use them for lots of the digital images in my crafting.
Tracy has been hostess this month at 52 CCT and her theme for #19-2020 is silhouette. On the blog she suggests using a stamp to create a silhouette, however I'm very limited with my stamps and chose to go the online clipart route.
To give the Nativity scene silhouette with sentiment the focus of the card, I kept the background papers and embellishments very basic.

Feminine Theme for no 243 challenge at TCCC blog
Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My creativity led me to layer pink crystal gems over a white glitter decorative tape. I think this is the first time I've done that. I wanted to use the pink gems but with them being about the same size as the pink dots of the patterned paper, I knew that wouldn't look good. They would just get lost. So that's why I thought of layering. And it's just enough tone to mask the print! Cool! That made my heart happy!
Another happy heart moment was with the laser cut wood posy getting colored with a pink marker and then layered with my gold glitter paint pen on top. <3
Challenge #243(? or is it 242? theme is feminine and starts 15 May 2020. The next challenge comes on June 1st for The Crafter's Café Challenge blog. The sponsor is My Besties and I have the privilege of using their "Flowerpot Girl" image 832.

Food Stuffs Theme Challenge starts 15 May 2020 for MTTC blog
Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! For this particular post, my heart's desire are these new-to-me food gardening theme items I procured recently that are shown on this card. It was quick and easy to put together. There are actually 4 different vendors' products used! More on that later in the blog. Every other Friday, My Time To Craft challenge blog has a new theme of competition to reveal #432 and today it's food!
Preserve the moments in life and/or from the garden card:

a. The 'preserves' and word stickers are from Webster Pages
b. The sage green diagonal line washi tape is from Heidi Swapp (2017) of American Crafts

d. The sage green flat card base (with a matching envelope) are from Darice
e. and disregard the damask paper; it is from The Paper Studio but it's not part of the card; I'm just using it to block the scanner light

May 2020 Week 2 Colors for the 18th Challenge Week at 52 CCT Blog
Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog! My creative heart took a stumble this week trying to come up with a non-traditional colors Christmas card! Yikes! Should be pretty easy! But lots of the stuff I purchased to prep for this DT gig with 52 CCT this year are traditional reds and greens or wintery blues.
CARD #1:
This minty-teal green chrysanthemum cardstock from Webster Pages was my driving force for this card I'm getting ready to show. Mums are an autumn perennial where I live but with the orange, green, and yellow large gem dots to be like berries or ornaments along with the word "gather" I thought might make this a great transitional card to bridge Thanksgiving and Christmas. The gold glitter tape and little gold pine needle branch add a bit more Christmas glam.
The tied sections of chevron cardstock symbolize the 'gather'-ing we do during the holiday season--we come together!

and I used last week's sketch to influence this layout=
*punched holes on each side that looks like part of a belt and triple-tied cording instead of a buckle or connector piece
*sentiment word added plus a few embellishments like the glitter tape and gems complete the card
and
CARD #2:
This is my favorite trio of colors: pink, purple, and silver. I dug and dug and found old pink and purple foam snowflakes that were ordered in a bulk pack from Oriental Trading many years ago. Layout-wise I'm still using last week's sketch. It's turning out very versatile and gives a chance to use a bit of contrast in patterned papers that I like to do on my cards.
Celebrate a Snowy Christmas card:

The patterned papers on CARD #2 are also from The Paper Studio/Hobby Lobby. The purple cardstock base cardstock is folded to dimensions of 5" x 7" and is made by Astrobrights/Neenah. The silver dazzle sentiment "Celebrate" is from Paper Wishes.
