More Bible Journaling Two Ways series entries on 17 March 2026

  Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog!

why: This posting showcases two different types of Bible journaling that I started in 2026. These forms of Bible studies have been done in the past. I'm still behind actual calendar time with the Scripture writing plan, working yet on January verses. And my chosen Word of the Year are two words that are synonyms: overcome and conquer. I've been alternating with the synonyms and Scripture containing those words. Two verses for overcome/overcometh and two for conquers/conquered/conquerors and now 1 verse for overcome.

when: Tuesday March 17, 2026

2B. Papercraft Challenges; new on March 15; theme is joy of spring; Since I wrote my Word of the Year journal series card #5 today on March 17 (St. Patrick's Day), I chose light green tones of colored pencils for the large heart and used a green ink pen to do the title line, box highlight around 'overcome' and the page/card entry # in the bottom right corner. My Mondrian Mondays Journal Page #32 on 16 March 2026

 Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog!

why: My blog posting showcases my newest entry to my 1 year old journaling project: My Mondrian Mondays Journal Pages!! Mondrian is a famous Dutch artist known by most folks for his geometric composition paintings from the 1920s-1940s.  He also did some abstract geometric designs with nautical vibes and there are some landscapes and still lifes in his vast collection. I opted for a Monday feature and then I decided to alliterate with Mondrian coming to my thoughts. So over the past year, I've managed to get 31 completed and this page starts year 2 with #32!!

My Mondrian Mondays Journal Page #31 on 9 March 2026

 Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog!

why: Finally! Another page entry for My Mondrian Mondays Journal notebook! About 3-4 weeks ago, both my husband and I had head colds. Then 2-3 weeks ago he had a cardiac stress test. Thought he passed but he didn't. So last week he had an angiogram/catherization procedure and got a stent partially cleaned out. The cardiologist did what he could within a 2 hour time frame. Hub's already feeling a difference in that 30-40% gained in just 1 small vessel! So that's great! Whew! Crazy! Then lots of challenge blog duties between Feb 27-March 7 took what remaining time I had between appointments, doggy care, etc. February's gone and March is quickly passing by, too!!! This geometric design started with overlapping an index card twice and then laying a stencil over most of those shapes. The top left corner of the stencil was placed in the top center corner near the top of the page. That's why there is a section left without stenciling. I decided not to re-lay down the stencil on that area. I thought about leaving it white but instead opted for color. I also decided to let some of the stencil shapes to overlap past the rectangle 'borders'.

If you're not familiar with this personal project series of mine, a year ago I decided to start a journaling notebook with Dutch artist Piet Mondrian's famous geometric composition paintings as my muse. Over 30+ years he painted some still lifes, landscapes but several variations of geometric designs. Most of his geometric block designs are using squares or rectangles, so this one with mostly stenciled triangles is a quirky twist by me!!!

My Paper Rocks Scissors DT #14 project for March 2026

  Welcome to Becca's Heart for Creativity blog!

why: this posting focuses on my latest design team project for Deanne's Paper Rocks Scissors, a challenges blog. The theme is easy: use anything paper and/or use scissors. This is an unusual card with me using 2 of cardstocks stitched together (came this way) in a unique way--reversed and then punched the circle opening, taped/adhered together after I had done the inking for that center circle area.

Deckle-edged scissors were used to trim the perimeter on the base white CS panel after I inked it.

Regular scissors were used to cut the cording ends. And not shown, dual-sided adhesive tape strips were cut to length to glue the layers together.

when: #14 will start March 2, 2026 and be open for the month

what: Project #1 =

how-to & vendor notes for #1 =

1. white CS base panel = old stash item = came in a scraps pack = Crafter's Square

2. Guava mini stamp pad = Lawn Fawn; stamp pad was applied in different directions multiple times to saturate the white CS layers

3. Gray + white + pink floral 'recipe card' style panel came stitched with a smaller white CS panel (like a flap); I reversed it (if you look close at the stitching you'll be able to tell) and punched a circle from the center of that floral layer; the exposed area on that white CS stitched panel was inked like the base layer; stamped with 'HELLO'; all layers adhered to the base panel; enamel dots added; cording tied on the side = GWP color floral recipe card with stitched white CS flap/layer is from Round Trip stationery pack by Maggie Holmes 2021/American Crafts

4. enamel dots = same pack = Simple Stories

5. orange and white cording = came in a 3-color pack = Crafter's Square

6. black stamp pad = Hero Arts

where #1 will be linked =

1A. The Crafting Challenge; new on March 1; theme of 'waiting for spring'; My card has orange/guava-coral tones plus flowers for a springtime look

link = https://thecraftingchallenge.blogspot.com/2026/03/aspettando-la-primavera.html

1B. Mix It Up Challenge; new on March 1-April 15; theme of anything goes mixed media w/ option of die-cuts; My guava/coral floral card has a punch tool used for the circle/aperture; I used decorative scissors for the base CS; lots of Guava stamp pad inking; stamping for the 'hello' sentiment; plus cording tied for an accent and repeats the orange and whites throughout the card

link = https://mixitupchallenge.blogspot.com/2026/03/miucb-82-anything-goes-optional-die.html

1C. The Four Seasons; new on March 1; theme month/season of spring; This card's coral/guava/pinkish-orange colors and florals makes me think of springtime.

link = https://thefourseasonschallenge.blogspot.com/2026/03/spring-season-march-2026.html

1D. We Love 2 Create; new on March 1; theme of mixed media anything goes; This card had tools of a circle punch used & also decorative scissors. Also lots of inking/Guava stamp pad was used to transform white CS to coral/Guava color. "Hello" is stamped. Cording was tied on the side for accent.

why: This posting showcases my DT/owner inspiration project for Christmas or not Bingo Challenges! For project #1 I chose Column G using 4 of the 5 elements: rainbow, purple, free and make own background. I've used colored pencils, watercolor markers and alcohol markers across the card in different ways. And I took time on Feb 28 to create (project #2) a sample of Column B using all elements: raindrops, blue, free, watercolor and splatters.

when: #18 starts March 1 and ends on April 15, 2026

what: Project #1 =

how-to & vendor notes for #1 =

Column G:

1. rainbow = two/double rainbow stickers used = Hello Hobby/Walmart;

2. purple = dark purple, magenta + pink-lavender watercolor markers: stash item; Lilac Thistle, a pinkish lavender, alcohol marker by Nuvo (on clouds and upper half of the center punched circle); lavender puffy heart sticker: Hello Hobby/Walmart; "Make a Wish" text sticker was pale pink and i inked it with Lilac Grey alcohol marker by Nuvo and the sticker is from the Maggie Holmes sticker book

3. free = flowers, birdhouse w/ bird, dragonfly & butterfly stickers: are all from Antique Gardens sticker book by Maggie Holmes/American Crafts; cloud cut-outs use Georgia Pacific white cardstock that I sketched and fussy cut and highlighted with dark purple marker, the Lilac Thistle a.m. and two purple tones colored pencil from stash box; center circle punched circle is more CS from Georgia Pacific and inked with dark purple marker for lower half and Lilac Thistle alcohol marker for upper half; stamped "don't forget" by Heidi Swapp; black ink stamp pad by Hero Arts; black extra fine tip marker pen by Sharpie to finish expression;

4. NO BLEACHING

5. make own background = started with a 3.5" x 5" print plaid paper (lavender tones, aqua and white) by Recollections; added watercolor marker alternating lines in dark purple, magenta and a pinkish-lavender in order to make it mine...or at least more mine

and

what: project #2 = Column B

how-to & vendor notes for #2:

21. RAINDROPS:

a. faux raindrops with ink/water splatters, enamel dots, ellipse shapes

b. also the base dot print cardstock was chosen because of the columns of dots mimicking the look of falling rain

22. BLUE:

a. 4 different blue watercolor markers from stash box (different vendors)

b. enamel dots in 3 different blue tones = Freckled Fawn

c. ellipse shaped blue puffy pieces = Studio G/Hampton Arts

d. base dot print glossy cardstock = from multicolor & multi-design pack = Crafter's Square

e. navy blue lettering stickers = Sticko/EKSuccess/American Crafts

23. FREE:

a. other colors besides blue seen in the choice of base dot print cardstock

b. little gray linen handmade paper used for the watercolor markers/chromatography painting and splatters

24. WATERCOLOR:

a. four different watercolor markers were scribbled in column widths onto the gray handmade paper then each got its own paintbrush dipped in water. Painted in vertical motions. After a minute or so after painting each color, I used tissues to dab and soak up most of the extra water (and also floating ink). This helped the paper to dry faster but also faded the intensity of the inks.

25. SPLATTERS:

a. brushes = kids set by Crayola

b. the smallest brush was used as the last step and swirled in the water that all the marker inks paint brushes were rinsed in and then this smallest brush was tapped at the end of the handle many times across the paper to create splatters. I didn't soak up this water. I let it sit and dry on the paper.

Also getting snow and/or occasional sleet or ice can also happen as storm fronts move through from different directions. We can get colder weather coming down from Canada or we can get warmer gulf stream air pushing up from the south; I'll be sharing my splattered raindrops cards
