***Season's Greetings! I'm excited to be announcing that July 1st is my debut as a design team member of Merry Little Christmas Challenge blog!! YES!! Oh, what joy! In 2022, co-owner Leslie T changed the competitions to last 6 weeks long and to offer 6 per year. That's doable for me.
MLCC Blog makes it even easier for Christmas cardmaking because their challenges are "Anything Christmas Goes". For my 1st DT project, I decided to do a mixed media holly leaves and berries stenciled 3x focus panel. Light green ink was sponged on first. Then red. Then green acrylic paint was applied to most of the stencil.
After it dried, I went back and outlined the holly leaves with 3 different tip-sized black pens. The holly berries were brightened with 4 different red markers. I was trying to achieve variegation over the panel. Then gold glitter tempera paint was dabbed on once most of the card was assembled. The gold thickers and red dot gems were added last.
Merry with holly leaves and berries=
Wow! I've used a non-traditional Christmas (or even winter) patterned paper on the left with the traditional red and green holly leaves and berries for the stenciled panel. Thanks to Simple Stories for the stencil sheet and I believe it is American Crafts for the gold thickers (Merry, holly leaves, and holly berries).
