layout design notes:

*my card is loosely based on the shown scrapbook page "Nibbles" by Kelly Jones

*my card has some size and shape variations with taking a 12" square reduced to about a 5" wide x 7" high dimension card

*an extra base/background layer was added

*navy blue layer replaces the shown kraft brown

*the mesh/grid print is replaced by the white and blue recycled cardstock print

*the caramel and white strip is replaced by the silver mirror foil decorative tape

*the white panel is used as white glitter coated cardstock on my card

*the 4 small holes on the vellum journaling are shown as 3 silver foil corner accents

*the top right photo was eliminated

*the circle photo was replaced with a circle cardstock topped with a sticker and without the fuzzy decorative yarn trim (navy blue alcohol marker edging instead(

*the bottom left photo was reduced in size and replaced with 2 snowflake glitter stickers

*the vellum journaling was replaced with the silver foil 'dazzles' sticker phrasing

*my card has additional embellishments with a snowflake die-cut, 7 silver stars, and a printed 2nd sentiment of "HNY 2025"

when: #534 theme suggested by DT member Maria' is 'super cute'. The competition starts May 17, 2024.

what: "Sending You A Little Sunshine" card (printer scanned photo)

notes: design of the card was inspired by the sun on the cut-a-part card from Summer Lovin' paper pad by Simple Stories

1. neon bright orange cardstock for base (scanning makes it look peachy-beige) = Astrobrights/Neenah

2. brown cardstock  panel = Art Skills

3. lots of cardstock and paper scraps for the layers of extra rays

4. black ink pad (Hero Arts) and black dual-tip marker (Art Skills)

5. crystal cut plastic gems = stash; also white gel pen to make little white dashes on the extra sun rays and also some on the brown cardstock panel (mimic detail from the sun's rays on the cut-a-part card)

purpose: AACB is Ally's Angels that Leslie T and I agreed to co-own about 18 months ago. We didn't want to have an anything goes competition blog closing down in blogland. In February, I decided that for many months of AACB projects going forward in 2024 that I would be using stamps in my stash that I've neglected. 

when: #82 starts May 15, 2024 (used to be on the 10th of each month)

what: "Just Fluttering By to Say Hi!" oversized greeting card

notes:

1. light gray cardstock for focal panel = Neenah 

2. dark purple marbled cardstock = DCVW

3. purple with an almost white Moroccan tile design paper = Art Skills

4. stamps (3 sizes of butterflies, 2 font variations for the sentiment, 2 sizes of dragonflies, and rose) = My Sentiments Exactly

5. leaf stamp and posy stamp = 

6. two sizes of posies from a stencil sheet = Crafter's Square

7. three pieces of jute twine were inked and pressed in different places and positioning to mimic stems

8. "Lobster" and "Sugarplum" small square ink pads = Lawn Fawn

9. "Berry Burst", "Fresh Fig", "Lemon-Lime Twist", "Emerald Envy" ink pads = Stampin' Up

10. scrap piece of bright blue cardstock = also Neenah

11. also 2 little pompoms were pressed in the "Lobster" and the "Emerald Envy" for little round flower buds

Firefighter tag = Path of Positivity; almost over/extended; anything goes encouraging with Power of Words/Love and Relationships; the firefighter tags are for 2 of my loved ones, my brother who is our hometown's fire chief (this is his 37th or 38th year as chief of the volunteer district) and he was a captain for 3 years before that; and now his 19 year old son started as a cadet at 15 and since his 18th birthday, is now considered a firefighter and has had some first responder training like his dad/my brother; these little tags are just a small token of my love and appreciation for all their doing

Christmas or Not Bingo Challenges #7 DT Project for May 1 to June 15

purpose: Christmas or Not Bingo Challenges blog's #7 competition is one of my co-owner/DT commitments. I've chosen again to stick with a Christmas occasion card. See the bingo card below for #7 column options you can pursue. 

when: #7 competition period goes from May 1-June 15, 2024

what: "all I want for Christmas is us" card

notes: my column choices come from "I"

1. free= checked ginghams and gems

2. stripes = on the sentiment tag, in the pink-ivory-deep raspberry striped and some wavy lines looking like stripes in the other paper

3. monochrome = pinks with some white and a bit of black neutrals

4. tag = 2 tags layered on each other with 1 being a die-cut/ephemera

5. no stamping = in my stash was the sentiment lined list type die-cut and used glitter foam stickers in pale pink to spell "us"

6. pink cardstock = Neenah/Astrobrights

7. pink and white checked gingham paper = Hot Off The Press

8. other papers = old stash scraps

9. sentiment tag die-cut ephemera = Simple Stories Holly Jolly

10. ribbon, lettering, iridescent gems = Crafter's Square

purpose: this posting focuses on a Guest DT card created for the "You're A Star" theme for IYGACAC or If You Give A Crafter A Cookie challenge blog.

when: May 1, 2024 is the start date for #192 and will end on May 31. 

what: #192 theme is "You're A Star" = Star-Studded Birthday Wishes card 

notes: I didn't do the pink and white of the IYGACAC photo badge but I've got lots of stars scattered around the card
